A 13-year-old boy from Nevada left his single mom in “complete shock” when he bought her a car by trading his Xbox and doing some yard work to earn money.
Krystal Preston, the single mother of three children, was going through a difficult financial time and finding it especially difficult making ends meet without a car.
That’s when her son, 13-year-old William Rabillo decided that he would do something about that. The young boy works around the neighborhood mowing lawns, cleaning yards and other odd jobs. “I saw people on YouTube and they get their mom a car,” William said. “I wanted to do it.”
William was looking for a used car when he came across a listing for a 1999 Chevrolet Metro on Facebook and got in contact with the woman selling it.
Speaking to, William revealed, “
Just recently, Preston thought her son was out doing his usual work one day, when he came home and told her the news.
When William told her he’d bought her a vehicle, Preston thought he was joking, but when she walked outside there was the woman selling the vehicle, waiting to the car with the paperwork in hand and William told her “Mom, that’s your car.”
“I lost it. I bawled so bad. I was just like ‘There’s no way.’” Preston said.
“At my low point, here comes my son,” Preston said. “Everybody goes through rough patches in life, but there’s good that can come from any situation as long as somebody with a heart does it.”
“What 13-year-old do you know who buys their mom a car? I don’t know any,” Preston told KOLO. “I can’t express it. There are no words that can express my gratitude and how proud I am.”
