18 Year Old Ellie Goldstein is the First Gucci Model with Down Syndrome

When Ellie first got featured on Vogue Italia as a model for Gucci’s Mascara L’Obscur, she was an instant online sensation.
Her picture was published on Gucci’s official Instagram page, which has garnered more than 800,000 likes and more than 5,000 comments.
According to Gucci, Ellie’s picture was the biggest liked post ever. The British teen model from Essex is represented by the Zebedee Management talent agency.

The agency specializes in representing models with disabilities. According to the agency, they want to increase the representation of those who have constantly been excluded in the media.
Gucci’s creative director, Alessandro Michele, states that she designed the mascara and named it L’Obscur as it balanced charm and mystery. Ellie’s photos for the L’Obscur campaign were done by David PD Hyde.
David is the photographer who worn #theguccibeautyglitch contest that ran on Instagram.
Ellie’s family is incredibly proud of her. Her mother confirms that she is a very confident person who has always loved the camera. As early as five years old, Ellie was already enjoying performing and going to dance and drama classes.
“She is very good at English,” says her mother as she marvels at Ellie’s ability to memorize scripts.
Ellie is currently a performing arts student at Redbridge College in Essex. She says that she would like to work with other brands. She started working with Zebedee Management when she was young and has been a regular since 2017.
Apart from working with Gucci and Vogue Italia, Ellie has since worked with several other brands. She has been featured in Nike, Superdrug, and Vodafone campaigns. According to Zebedee Management, she makes the 0.06% of the people with disabilities who are featured in advertising and among the 0.02% featured in beauty and fashion advertisement.
