A 5-year-old boy is fighting for his life after being crushed by a vehicle backing out of a driveway.

The little boy, Jameson Ashley, from Michigan, was walking with his big sister when somebody backed out of their driveway hitting the little boy.

According to WNEM News. , the little boy’s mom, Mallory, said the vehicle continued to back up and ran over the top of him. “Then proceeded to still keep backing up and then ran over the top of him. Then when she got out he was underneath her tire. He was just crushed.” Mallory said.

Jameson had just started kindergarten and was out walking with his big sister in Richfield Township mobile home park when the incident happened on August 30.

According to the WNEM News, both of Jameson’s arms were broken. He also suffered a collapsed lung, five ribs along with his pelvis were fractured and doctors had to remove his spleen.

“That was the worst part, the ride in the ambulance. That was pretty tough. Seven hours of surgery. He’s a fighter though.” Jameson’s father, Joshua, revealed.

A GoFundMe appeal posted an update on September 8 reads, “On Friday, August 30, 2019, Jameson, 5, and his sister were walking over to their friends house to play. He was suddenly hit and ran over by a car backing out of their driveway. He has incurred 6 hours of surgery so far for broken arms and shoulder damage, along with his spleen which they were unable to repair. Jameson also has fractures in his pelvis and will not be able to walk for some time, and five broken ribs.

“Joshua and Mallory will now have to face the difficult task of providing in home care until he is able to walk again, and will have to be home schooled. Please find it in your heart to donate to this boy and his family. He has a long road of recovery ahead of him and will need all the help they can get!”

Mallory said, “His class has drawn him pictures, his teacher has been up here with gifts for him.”

Jameson’s parents want to make sure this doesn’t happen to anybody else and want to spread a message to all drivers.

“Triple check yourself,” Mallory said.” Even if you’ve got to get out of your car to tell the kids to step away from you. It’s very important.”
