Babies are the most adorable beings on earth and that explains why we always want to give them a hug or a kiss when we see them.
The thing is that babies are also gentle and delicate and sometimes our behavior can affect them without us even knowing.
One mom from Grimsby, North Lincolnshire, shared her ordeal on social media on how her one-year-old son ended up in the hospital with a life-threatening rash because of a kiss.
According to Demi Boswell, her little son, Cohen, ended up with a life-threatening rash after a person with herpes virus kissed him. Cohen’s immune system was too weak to fight the virus so the rash covered all his body.
Don’t kiss babies when you have cold sores
Boswell wants everyone to know that herpes can be life-threatening to babies and she pleads with people not to kiss babies when they have cold sores.
Boswell hopes no other child should ever go through what her son did.
Thankfully Cohen has recovered from the virus.
She wrote: “People might not want to see these photos but I think it’s important I show them.”
“Cohen got blue lighted to hospital with doctors already waiting to take him in.”
“Even if you can’t see a cold sore it could be underlying so you have no idea you have one — I kiss my boy on the lips every day all day but this has definitely opened my eyes now,” she added.
Seeing what Cohen went through because of a simple little kiss makes you understand why you should always wash your hands whenever you get around babies and avoid kissing them when you have a cold sore.
Babies have a weak immune system and are likely to catch illnesses when exposed.
