The National Down Syndrome Adoption Network (NDSAN) is based in Cincinnati and was established in a bid to ensure every child born with Down syndrome has the chance to grow up in a loving family.

It was founded by Robin and David Steele in 1982 after they fell in love with Martha, a little girl with Down syndrome residing at a children’s home.

The organization says it is “committed to providing support for families who are considering an adoption plan for their child, and for families who would like to adopt a child with Down syndrome.”
