Being a parent certainly comes with a lot of responsibilities and commitment to have your child’s best interests at heart, and while most parents try their ultimate best to be great parents, they can all agree that no one is perfect. However some parents actions, will only leave you in shock. Tori Castillo from Riverdale, Utah is a mother of two children, a 5 year old and a 2 year old.
On the 25th of May, Castillo took her children shopping. One would think it was routine. Castillo though has a different and rather strange way to shop with her children. A woman by the name Heidi had gone to Walmart with her friend for grocery shopping . As they loaded the groceries into their car, something caught Heidi’s ear. She describes it as one of those sounds that you can’t initially make out, but that you know just feels wrong. Heidi followed the sound to a car trunk!
On getting closer, Heidi realised what it was that was making the sound, it was a little girl. “She was like, ‘Mom, let me out! Let me out! Mom!! Help!!’ She was screaming and crying,” Heidi told KTSU. Heidi got the girl to calm down and helped her through the process of opening the emergency latch in the truck. When she finally got the trunk open, she found not just one but two little girls!
This is why I think parenting classes should be mandatory. https://t.co/1Dwet7YGOp

The little girls were Castillo’s children. Heidi grabbed one child, another woman who had come over to help grabbed the other. The police were called. They arrived just as Castillo finished her shopping and got out. Castillo told the police that she had locked her two little girls inside the trunk of her car, because the babysitter she had lined up was not able to make it, so this was her only alternative.
Castillo was charged with four counts of child abuse and one charge of theft. The kids are under care while the case continues. It was very fortunate that Heidi acted on the noises she heard instead of simply blowing it off as just something odd. Thanks to her actions, the two little girls will be in a better place.
