A couple decided not to ask for wedding gifts and instead dedicated all their wedding registry to Bert’s Big Adventure a non-profit that provides an all-expenses paid trip to Disney World for chronically/ terminally ill children and their families.
The couple, Kristin Klingshirn and Bart Mattingly said that they had everything they needed after 10 years of being together so they did not need the gifts. Since they announced their idea in a video, they have received huge deliveries of toys.
“We realized after 10 years together, we pretty much have everything we need,” Kristin explains in a video announcement shared about a month ago.
When they received the toys in their home, they opened each gift box which they live streamed on Facebook live for their fans to be part of it. Kristin, a host on Atlanta’s popular morning show said she plans on adding to the registry.
“To see these families and to see these kids and what they have overcome, the joy with which they live their lives, it’s just a really beautiful thing to witness.”
She continued to explain that the children receive the toys after they return home from the annual Disney World trip each year. Their gesture definitely brought smiles to the children’s faces.
Their decision was extraordinary something that a few couples who are getting married can do.
