Drake paid a surprise birthday pop in at the Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital in Chicago, for a special little girl called Sofia Sanchez, who is awaiting a heart transplant. This was after the eleven year old captured the rapper’s attention with her own rendition of the Kiki Challenge– the craze that incorporates a choreographed dance to Drake’s recent hit song, “In My Feelings.”

The sweet moment was captured in a video clip shared to the hospital’s official Facebook page. Sofia who had no idea that Drake was actually going to make her wish come true screamed, Oh my God!” with a shocked face as Drake pulled back the curtain and walked into her hospital room.

“Your concert is this Saturday at the United Center and I want to go but I can’t cause I’m stuck here so I want you to come and cheer me up for my birthday.” She added.

Sofia has been in the hospital for 7 weeks  and was recently diagnosed with cardiomyopathy. In fact, just a day before she had open heart surgery to have a ventricular assistance device installed, Sofia recorded her Kiki Challenge in hopes of getting Drake’s attention.

Dr. Bradley Marino, a pediatric cardiologist treating Sofia at the Ann & Robert H. Lurie children’s hospital, explained that she is still waiting for a heart, but the surprise visit allowed her to take her mind off of her health crisis. “She came in with heart failure. She was so ill. And having this one special day where she doesn’t have to be a sick patient, and doesn’t have to be a girl waiting for a heart, and is just a little girl who is a fan of a great artist? It’s pretty special.”

“It’s a miracle because it’s one of the first wishes I got in a long time,” Sofia said. “Thank you so much Drake for coming to see me. It means a lot for you to come and cheer me up.” She added.
