Former NBA superstar, Lamar Odom has given his life to Christ and is now a proud Christian.
Sharing two pictures on Instagram, Odom happily announced that he got saved last month over the weekend at The Word Church in Warrensville Heights, Ohio.
Odom revealed he was grateful to be “walking with the Lord” and acknowledged The Word Church founder and Senior Pastor R.A. Vernon for leading him to Christ.
“Nowadays I’m doing the best I can in walking with the Lord. Thanks to Pastor Vernon @drravernon, I got saved at @thewordchurch this weekend.” Odom wrote on Instagram.
Odom also praised Jesus Christ for keeping him alive after he nearly died from a drug overdose at a Nevada brothel in 2015. “I had to show Jesus my appreciation for keeping me alive!” He testified.
After the overdose, Lamar was in a coma and miraculously survived 12 strokes and 6 heart attacks! In fact, doctors are still amazed he’s still alive today.
“My doctors say I’m a walking miracle, they’re amazed that I’m here. I always knew I had a strong will. I think my will is even stronger than I believed it was. It’s a testament that God is good.
“When I woke up and I couldn’t talk or walk I never thought I would be here. I never thought I would play basketball again. Just to be here is a win for me.” Lamar told Metro.
Odom posted a photo of himself with his hands lifted in prayer as the pastor laid hands on him. Odom’s girlfriend, Sabrina Parr, has been supportive in his Christian journey. “Nothing better than a man of God! Keeping pushing through life baby!! God willing I’ll be right here by your side!!!!” she wrote under his post.
Lamar has been upfront about his struggles with addiction in his new memoir, Darkness to Light that was released earlier this year.
What an amazing testimony this is!
Remember to share this article to send Lamar love and wish him well.
