A miraculous turn of events has seen the condition of a 5 year-old boy, who was senselessly thrown from the third floor balcony of Mall of America by a man who was simply “looking for someone to kill”, improve from critical condition to alert and conscious.

The young boy, identified as Landen has been in critical condition in a Minnesota hospital since 12th of April when the heinous attack happened.

“All praise, glory and honor to Jesus! We are so elated to let you know that our son is now alert and conscious and is no longer in critical condition!” The family’s attorney, R. Stephen Tillitt, read from a statement written by Landen’s family.

This amazing news comes two weeks after the little boy was allegedly tossed over the railing of a balcony by Emmanuel Deshawn Aranda. The 24 year old man was charged with attempted murder.

According to a criminal complaint, the little boy and his mother were outside the Rain Forest Café in Mall Of America when Aranda came up close to them. The pair had never seen Aranda before so Landen’s mom asked if she and her son should move.

At that moment, Aranda picked up the boy and threw him over the railing, the complaint states.

The criminal complaint further reveals that Aranda told investigators he was at the mall a day earlier “looking for someone to kill, but it did not ‘work out.” So he returned the next day and apparently chose the boy.

A GoFundMe campaign started to help the boy’s family with medical expenses has already surpassed $1 million.

“We are now turning our focus to additional surgeries, healing, rehabilitation and eventually a return home, which we hope will happen by June,” said Tillitt, on behalf of the child’s family.

“We want to personally thank each and every one of you for your love, prayers and support…The road to recovery remains long, but with God and you, we are assured to make it through. Please keep praying for our son and may our loving God bless you and everyone you love,” Tillitt added.
