We all know that children are innocent young souls and it is because of this that we need to take good care of them, protect them and teach them to be better people.
One night a couple checked on their son only to find him sleeping with his pet fish. The startling sight made the couple realize how innocent their son was. It was at this point that they realized there were some important life lessons they had to teach their son.
Corey Hamlin and his wife Tori had bought their young son, Everett, a gold fish and a fish tank with beautiful lights. Everett loved his pet gold fish and spent most of his time staring at the fish tank and made sure it was clean and that it had all the décor that would make Nemo happy.
One night, while the family was preparing to go to bed, Everett grew tired of just watching his pet fish so he approached the tank and opened the lid. He had a tough time opening the lid, so his parents heard a loud crash.
When his mother asked if something had happened, Everett said that it was nothing. Little did his mother know that he had taken out Nemo from his fish tank and carried him to his bed. Everett thought that Nemo must have been so lonely in his fish tank so he wanted to give his pet some comfort.
About 20 minutes later the couple checked on their son. It was then that they realized that the fish tank lid was missing! And even to make it worse was the fact that the fish was not inside the tank. Confused Tori asked her husband to help check on the fish with her, which is when he realized his son was holding the fish gently in his hand.
Shocked by what they had seen, the couple woke up their son to explain to him that Nemo was dead because fish needed to stay in water. Everett said that he meant no harm and just wanted to pet his fish. He had known Nemo since he was a baby and he was so upset over losing him.
Everett was innocent, and this was one of those moments when a child learns what it means to lose something or someone so dear to them. They got Everett another fish and the boy promised he wouldn’t touch it.
He finally realized it was much better to appreciate his fish inside the tank than to touch them and put them at risk.
