In a miraculous turn of events, a 4-year-old boy survived a deadly injury that should have taken his life.
On March 27, 2019, Na’vaun Jackson reportedly found a gun under a pillow in the home of his mother’s estranged boyfriend in Oakland, California and accidentally shot himself in the head.
The boyfriend told the police that he slept with a gun underneath his pillow and had forgotten to secure it.
After the shooting, doctors told his family that he might never be able to walk again and had most likely suffered severe brain damage. He was immediately placed on life support and was placed in a medically induced coma.
However, in what Na’vaun’s mom, Brijjanna Price, describes as divine intervention and a complete miracle, little Na’vaun became responsive and started to eat on his own.
“He’s breathing on his own, he’s doing something different every day. Everything the doctors saying… God says different.” Price said.
“What a Mighty God we serve. Prayer really does change things. From ICU to physical therapy. Please continue to lift my grandson myself and the rest of my family up in prayer.” the boy’s grandfather, Ramon Price, wrote on Facebook alongside photos of the boy awake in bed.
“We maintain our faith and pray that things will turn out and he will leave (the hospital), but with the extent of his injuries, he’ll never be the same,” another family member added, according to CNN.
Brijjanna Price, the boy’s mom, told reporters she has no plans to return to that home again. “I don’t even plan on talking to anyone associated with that house,” she stated at a news conference.
The said boyfriend, Terrence Wilson, was arrested after the shooting and was charged on suspicion of child abuse, having a gun as a felon, and criminal storage of a gun, reported SFGate.
Please remember to keep this child in your prayers.
