Pregnant Dog Shot 17 Times & Abandoned on Streets Becomes Therapy Dog

A miraculous dog that was shot 17 times, had her eyes shot out, one of her ears cut off and her jaw broken before being abandoned on the streets has found a new lease of life working as a therapy dog.

The five-year-old dog named Maggie was also pregnant when she was found in Lebanon tied to a box on her own.

But as it turned out Maggie was one tough fighter. She was rescued by an animal charity called Wild At Heart Foundation. After hearing her heartbreaking story, Kasey, an animal lover from London decided to adopt the poor dog and give it a better life.

“Mom came and gave me a kiss today. I don’t think she realised I was eating cow poo moments earlier… shhhhh… don’t tell her!” -Maggie #bemoremaggie • • • Beautiful friends! Today I genuinely did a cow poo kiss! 🤢 Once I got past the grossness all I could do is laugh! Look at that beautiful Maggie face, how could I ever be mad at her? You can’t look at her and not feel happy. She’s such an amazing dog and to me, Maggie is a cuddle bug, a confidant, a comedian, a best friend and a spoiled baby. She means the world to me and I’m humbled you love her as well. I know that over time Maggie has won over so many other people from all over the world. With that in mind I pose this question to you.. why do you follow Maggie? Does she inspire you? Make you laugh? Or maybe she just makes you smile when you see her face? I’d love to know how others see her and why so many have become so attached to Miss Maggie Moo. #dogsarethebest • • • Today’s giveaway item can be found in our stories. Despite all the traumatic and horrifying pain she had suffered through, Maggie became a therapy dog. Now, she even boasts a large following on Instagram.

Speaking with The Argus, Kasey explained, “This person in Lebanon posted asking for help and a woman in London saw the post and got help. Wild At Heart said they would take her in, even though it’s quite hard to get pets out of Lebanon.”

“My mum saw Maggie’s post and said we had to foster her. I got home and saw the picture and agreed.” She added.

It took a 6-month online campaign to get Maggie out of Lebanon into her new home in Sussex, but now she’s thriving.

With over 80,000 followers on her Instagram account, ‘Maggie the Wunderdog’, tours hospitals, care homes, and universities in a bid to help others heal and spread an inspiring message.

Having passed the necessary exams, Maggie is now a qualified therapy dog with Underdog International.

“Guess what….I am now a registered therapy dog!! Do you think I’ll be able to make people happy?” -Maggie #bemoremaggie #bemoredog • • • As many of you know.. Maggie has a heart that loves unconditionally! Her spirit is infectious! She has a has a big personality. And she has and aurora that is so calming. Her story catches the hearts of many and reminds us all of our inner strength. Since the first time I met Maggie I knew she would make a great therapy dog if she wanted to be. Thankfully we found a charity that not only uses the healing power of dogs but also teaches the importance of animal welfare. Yesterday me and Maggie went to meet with her assessor, @maherandhounddogtraining she flaunted her stuff and gave it her best go and she PASSED. Maggie is now a registered therapy dog with @underdog_international . She and I will speak to schools and work hands on with youngsters. I know what happened to Maggie was horrendous but if her story can educate and inspire others to do good then at least we can do our part to make this world a little brighter. • • • #therapydog #therapydogsrock #therapydogsofinstagram #therapydoglife #dogtherapy #gooddoggos #dogisgood #gooddoggie #gooddoggo #rescuedogs #rescuedogsarethebestdogs #rescuedogsofinsta #rescuedoglife #rescuedoglove #dogslove #lovedogs #doglover #blinddog #dogsofinstagram #dogsoflondon #rescuedogstory #disableddogsofinstagram #dogsaretherapy #dogsaremytherapy

Her proud owner took to Instagram to share the exciting news. Maggie is certainly one of the bravest and most determined dogs we know of. We wish this fighting pup all the very best moving forward.
