A touching moment was captured of a very focused and busy boy doing his homework under a street light. Following it up, it was discovered that his mother was short on money for the electricity bills and thus there was no power at the little man’s house.
Despite a blackout that he didn’t know how long it would take to get the lights back, the boy had homework, with a deadline of the next day’s dawn and he knew he had to find a way to make his ends meet. The solution found was sitting on a lit pathway on the streets and finishing his homework. It had actually become a trend for him.
The video would be posted online and that’s where Millionaire philanthropist Yaqoob Yusuf Ahmed Mubarak saw it. The generous philanthropist went on to pay for their electricity bill and as huge as giving can get, he gave them enough funds to upgrade their living conditions.
They were able to add to a second story on their now renovated house. When news agency Tubarco asked him why he chose to help them out, he explained of how relatable the child’s struggles were as he has a similar past.
Víctor Martín Angulo Córdoba, the boy who witnessed a real-life miracle thanked the man who had single-handedly changed his life and that of his family forever. He also mentioned how grateful he was that the heaven-sent millionaire had promised to renovate the local school that is in a not-so-good condition. In a statement published in the Diario Correo the boy is quoted saying:
“Thank you for the help you are offering, thank you very much because you are helping us to build our school,” Víctor said.
“I thank the people who want to do this to me [build my house]. I thank them very much that they have had that kindness and they have given time to come to my humble home, because anyone does not do it.”
Mubarak’s efforts are with no doubt heartwarming and the most caring of acts a stranger can ever do. Thankyou Mubarak for your kindness.
