A marathon runner melted hearts across the world for the sweetest reason. Khemjira Klongsanun from Bangkok, Thailand is an ardent runner and regularly runs marathons in her home.

7-miles into the 26-mile marathon, Khemjira noticed a tiny puppy by the side of the road. It was all alone with no mother or siblings around.

All the other runners were focused on winning and hence were trying to avoid the little dog but not Khemjira. She understood that a little kindness and compassion was worth much more than just winning a marathon and trying to beat her personal best.

Sacrificing some of her precious time off the marathon, Khemjira slowly approached the little dog stray puppy and scooped it up.

Khemjira then ran the remaining 19-miles of the marathon, all the while holding the little puppy in her arms.

There was an option, perhaps, that Khemjira could have handed the puppy off to a willing spectator or race official, but she did not. She chose to go all the way with her newly found fur friend.

Khemjira decided to take the sweet puppy home with her and add it to her own family. She named the puppy Nong Chom.

The pair made it over the finish line together. But, as it turns out, that was not the end of their story. Khemjira decided to take the sweet puppy home with her and add it to her own family. She named the puppy Nong Chom.

She took Nong Chom to see a vet who confirmed that he was perfectly healthy. Later, she introduced Nong Chom to her family’s other dogs and he fit in immediately.

Khemjira took Nong Chom back to where she found him, to check if his mom or any siblings were in need of help too, but it looked like Nong Chom had definitely been alone.

The sweet little dog is now surrounded by love, has a home and a family he belongs to. What a touching act of kindness, we hope this pair remain a close family forever.
