For most kids, getting to meet Santa is one of the reasons they excitedly look forward to Christmas. Most children also believe that Santa will listen to their wishes and grant them during Christmas.
So when Julie Kay Ryff took her young son, Levi, to see Santa at a Bass Pro Shops in Olathe, Kansas, she was so touched and pleasantly surprised by how meaningful their trip turned out to be.
Levi and two other children had just finished taking pictures with Santa when he asked them what they wanted for Christmas.
Little Levi was too shy to say his wish out loud, so his mom went ahead and answered for him. “He doesn’t talk much, but he’s on the kidney transplant list, so he would like a new kidney for Christmas.” she said.
Needless to say, Santa was taken aback by the request. He gently took Levi and placed him back on his lap. He then threw his arm around the young boy and said a prayer for him.
Levi’s mom, Julie, recalled, “He hugged Levi and set him down. He looked me in the eye and squeezed my hand.”
“It never ceases to amaze me how God puts people in your path to bless and encourage you when you need it most, and usually it comes in the most unexpected places and ways. I’m thankful for this sweet man tonight.” Julie added.
What a wonderful and compassionate gesture. We are sending our love and prayers to little Levi. We hope he gets his Christmas wish granted.
Remember to share to encourage kindness and compassion especially during this festive season.
