Teen Beats Rare Stage 4 Cancer Just In Time To Go Home For Christmas

A 14 year old girl is receiving the best Christmas present ever. After having to spend over 500 days in hospital, the young girl is finally going home for Christmas.

Chloe Cress has been a patient at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis, TN for about 18 months, due to Alveolar Rhabdomyosarcoma, a cancer that forms in the muscle tissue, often in the arms or legs, chest.

In June 2018, Chloe began experiencing back pain. Since she had also developed a limp and a fever, she went to the hospital where it was discovered that she had a mass in her chest.

“In the beginning, you just hear stage 4 and think ‘Oh my God, my daughter has stage 4 cancer,’” Chloe’s dad, Shawn, said.

“Chloe’s first question was, ‘Am I going to die?’” Shawn told Yahoo Lifestyle.

Shawn has been by his daughter’s side through out her whole treatment that included radiation, multiple rounds of chemotherapy and eight procedures to correct a complication with her esophagus.

Now, almost two years since Chloe was diagnosed with cancer, she is finally going home, after beating the cancer.

“Thank God my daughter has beat cancer. It’s just crazy. It’s been so long, and you lose hope along the way, but it’s finally over. It’s surreal. You just can’t describe how happy you are. You kind of just keep going through the treatment and wonder when we’re gonna get there.” Shawn said.

Chloe reveals she is just so eager to spend time with her family and dogs. A GoFundMe has also been set up to help give Chloe the best Christmas ever.
