If your dog is not particularly excited at the prospect of having his nails clipped at home or at the groomer, you will definitely want to borrow this canine parent’s brilliant DIY solution. Patrick Peifer, from Minnesota, recently came up with the perfect grooming getup for his family’s rescue dog, Oliver. The clever trick is now going viral thanks to his daughter who shared the image on Twitter. The dad cut a few holes in the bottom of an inexpensive purse he bought at Goodwill and just like that his dog now got a cozy, hanging harness.
Patrick was inspired to create the bag harness after seeing a similar gizmo designed to help anxious pooches. Speaking to Buzzfeed, his daughter Kendal said, “It’s very difficult to keep him still while clipping nails. He saw the idea to hang a dog from a doorway to clip nails, so he bought the purse to be cheaper. It was his DIY project for the night.”
Soon after testing it out, Kendal snapped a picture of Oliver, her dad, and the purse and shared it on Twitter. In no time, the image quickly racked up more than 333,000 likes including several comments from people wanting to know more about the inventor. While it’s not clear whether it was the dog hack or the dog dad that made this photo go viral, we know there’s a lot to appreciate in Kendal’s post.
