Woman Marries the Love of Her Life While In Quarantine after Covid-19 Diagnosis

Lauren Jimenez, 29, was not willing to let any obstacle stop her from marrying the love of her life Patrick Delgado, 27 — not even covid-19 itself.
Jimenez and Delgado have been together for four years and got engaged on May 24, 2019.
The couple had planned to have a wedding on November 20, 2020, when the unthinkable happened — Jimenez tested positive for Covid-19 a few days before the big day forcing her to go into quarantine.
However, the couple decided to move forward with the wedding preparations since they were under a lot of pressure — they had changed the venue and guest list three times because of the pandemic. Their wedding license was also about to expire.
Delgado continued to make arrangements for the ceremony while Jimenez was in quarantine. He called all their vendors to cancel and made sure their photographer and officiant would participate in this impromptu wedding.
The Wedding Day
Jimenez dressed in her beautiful wedding dress while sitting in her bedroom window at her mother’s house in Ontario, California, while Delgado stood in the front yard.
“Although it’s definitely not how we envisioned our wedding day, Patrick and I were able to exchange our vows to each other,” Jimenez told Good Morning America.
“Patrick has been the best partner!” Jimenez told Good Morning America.
“Since we don’t live together, he would FaceTime me every day and reassure me that we can get through anything together.”
When the time to tie the knot arrived, the couple was connected by a 30-foot flower ribbon made by Jimenez’s aunt. According to Jimenez, the ribbon symbolized “unity, love and physical touch” since they could not make contact.
According to the ceremony photographer Jessica Castellano, this was the “most 2020 wedding” she has done so far.
Delgado and Jimenez plan to share their story with their children and grandchildren on just how crazy and unique their wedding ceremony was.
The two lovebirds are also planning on having a big celebration next year if things are back to normal.
Jimenez is glad to have married the love of her life, and she can’t wait to get out of quarantine so that she can finally give Delgado the long-awaited kiss.
It’s amazing to see how people are coming up with innovative ways to do things in the wake of Covid-19. We wish this lovely couple all the happiness in the world.
