The acclaimed actor, who is about to turn 60 next year, is openly contemplating early retirement from acting, suggesting that fading from the limelight might bring him greater contentment.
As reported by Variety, Crowe’s reflection on aging involves standing in front of the mirror and asking, ‘Who the f— is that?’ He candidly expressed that he is in that phase of his life now.
In considering his future, Crowe cited two possible paths: following the example of Ridley Scott, who continues to explore new aspects in his work even at the age of 85, or choosing to withdraw completely from the public eye. He stated, “These are two very valid choices.”

Ridley Scott, who Crowe famously collaborated with on the iconic film Gladiator in 2000, reportedly has as many as 20 projects in the pipeline according to his IMDb page. Crowe, on the other hand, is credited with eight forthcoming films as per Fox News. Given this, fans may have some time left before lamenting his potential exit from the entertainment industry.
Among Crowe’s current endeavors are a number of documentaries which he intends to release in the future. The actor, who is 59, explained, “In order to release them, I have to make them legally comfortable. And to me, that destroys the point. So I just have to wait longer, wait for some people to die, and then I can put them out.”
