Martha Stewart made history by appearing on the cover of the 2023 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue at the age of 81, making her the oldest person ever to be featured on the cover.
Alongside Stewart, the issue also featured Megan Fox, Kim Petras, and Brooks Nader as cover stars.
Stewart acknowledged the historic nature of her cover appearance, saying, “When I heard that I was going to be on the cover of Sports Illustrated Swimsuit, I thought, Oh, that’s pretty good, I’m going to be the oldest person I think ever on a cover of Sports Illustrated. And I don’t think about age very much, but I thought that this is kind of historic.”

Martha Stewart, at 81, traveled to the Dominican Republic for her historic Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue photoshoot. In an interview with Today hosts Savannah Guthrie and Hoda Kotb, she shared that she felt the experience was a “challenge” for her, but she believed she “met the challenge.”
For her cover shoot, Stewart wore 10 different looks. The publication ultimately chose a photo featuring her in a white bathing suit with a plunging neckline and an orange shawl draped over her shoulders for the cover.
