Donald Trump takes a jab at Taylor Swift after Super Bowl crowd reaction

Swift was booed at the Super Bowl, and Trump wasted no time mocking her

The Kansas City Chiefs may have lost the Super Bowl, but Taylor Swift had an even rougher night as she faced loud boos from the crowd—something Donald Trump wasted no time mocking.

While the Philadelphia Eagles celebrated their 40-22 victory over the Chiefs, much of the post-game discussion centered on two of the biggest names in America: former president Donald Trump and global pop superstar Taylor Swift. Both were in attendance at the Caesars Superdome, and their presence stirred up plenty of reactions.

Swift, there to support her boyfriend, Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, found herself at the center of controversy when fans booed her after she appeared on the jumbotron. Meanwhile, Trump, who made history as the first sitting president to attend a Super Bowl, used the moment to take a jab at Swift—reigniting their ongoing feud.

First sitting president to attend

Trump’s decision to attend the Super Bowl was a historic one. No sitting president had ever attended the game before, making his presence a major talking point. He had announced his plans earlier in the weekend, even predicting a Chiefs victory in a Fox News interview.

“I have to go with Kansas City,” Trump said before the game, praising quarterback Patrick Mahomes and his wife, Brittany. “I’ve watched this great quarterback, who has, by the way, a phenomenal wife. She is a Trump fan; she’s a MAGA fan, so I happen to love her, okay. But she’s a great person.”

However, things didn’t go as he predicted, with the Chiefs failing to retain their championship. Instead of dwelling on the loss, Trump turned his attention to the new NFL kickoff rule, calling it the “worst part of the Super Bowl” and accusing it of ruining the game.

While Trump’s presence at the game was notable, it was his reaction to Taylor Swift’s experience that truly made headlines.

Taylor Swift faces boos at the Super Bowl

Taylor Swift has been a regular presence at Chiefs games this season, often appearing in support of Travis Kelce. Her presence has brought a surge of attention to the NFL, with cameras frequently cutting to her during broadcasts.

At the Super Bowl, however, things took a turn when Swift appeared on the stadium screen, leading to audible boos from the crowd. The singer, caught off guard, was seen reacting to the unexpected negativity.

Trump, never one to miss an opportunity to take a shot at Swift, quickly seized on the moment.

Trump mocks Swift after Super Bowl boos

As the Super Bowl unfolded, Trump took to his social media platform, Truth Social, to mock Swift over the crowd’s reaction.

“The only one that had a tougher night than the Kansas City Chiefs was Taylor Swift. She got BOOED out of the Stadium. MAGA is very unforgiving!” he wrote.

He also posted a video of himself being cheered by the crowd and compared it to Swift’s reception. The post quickly went viral, fueling the long-standing tension between the two public figures.

The Trump-Swift feud

Trump and Swift’s strained relationship dates back years. The pop star initially avoided political discussions early in her career, but in 2018, she publicly endorsed Democratic candidates in the U.S. Senate election in Tennessee. Her Instagram post at the time criticized Republican candidate Marsha Blackburn for her stance on LGBTQ+ rights and women’s issues.

Trump’s response was swift and dismissive. “I’m sure Taylor Swift doesn’t know anything about [Blackburn],” he said at the time. “I like Taylor’s music about 25% less now, OK?”

In the years that followed, Swift became more vocal in her criticism of Trump’s policies and leadership, accusing him of “gaslighting the American public” and suggesting that he believed the U.S. was “an autocracy.”

Trump, in turn, has taken multiple shots at Swift, especially regarding her political endorsements. Most recently, he suggested that she couldn’t possibly endorse Joe Biden’s re-election because he had supposedly done more for her career by signing the Music Modernization Act in 2018.

Super Bowl drama adds fuel to their ongoing battle

The Super Bowl may have been about football, but for many, the real drama unfolded in the stands. Trump’s continued attacks on Swift show no sign of slowing down, especially as the 2024 presidential election looms.

With Swift’s influence at an all-time high and Trump preparing for a potential return to the White House, their rivalry has become more than just a war of words—it’s a cultural and political battleground.
