Randy Quaid says Gene Hackman was “murdered,” but there’s no evidence
Actor’s shocking statement adds to speculation surrounding Hollywood legend’s mysterious death
The entertainment world was left in shock last week when Gene Hackman and his wife, Betsy Arakawa, were found dead in their Santa Fe, New Mexico home. While initial reports suggested no foul play, new details have led authorities to investigate the case further.
As speculation grows, actor Randy Quaid has made a bold claim, insisting that Hackman and Arakawa were murdered. The 74-year-old took to social media to share his belief that their deaths were staged, adding to the swirl of conspiracy theories already circulating online.
New details emerge in investigation
Hackman, 94, and Arakawa, 62, were found in separate rooms of their home, with Hackman’s body discovered in a mudroom and his wife in a bathroom next to a space heater. A search warrant issued by the Santa Fe County Sheriff’s Office revealed that investigators found an open prescription bottle and pills scattered on the bathroom counter.
One of Hackman’s daughters, Elizabeth Jean Hackman, spoke to TMZ, suggesting that carbon monoxide poisoning could have been a possible cause. However, tests conducted by the Santa Fe City Fire Department and the New Mexico Gas Company found no traces of gas leaks or carbon monoxide in the home.
With no official cause of death yet determined, the case remains under investigation.
