However, their marriage faced its greatest test during Bill’s presidency. The Monica Lewinsky scandal of 1998 rocked the nation and put their relationship under intense scrutiny. Despite public humiliation and private pain, Hillary chose to stand by Bill, describing the decision as one of the hardest she’d ever made.
