Jeanne Covey from ‘My 600-lb Life’ – here’s how she’s doing today

Jeanne Covey’s journey on TLC’s “My 600-lb Life” was unlike most. After a family tragedy forced her to leave the program early, fans wondered what happened next. Today, Jeanne is living a new life, making progress, and sharing updates with her supporters.

When viewers first met Jeanne Covey in season 7 of My 600-lb Life, she weighed around 700 pounds and lived with her parents in Big Sandy, Texas. Dependent on her mother Barbara for daily care, Jeanne spent most of her days sitting in a chair and felt trapped by her circumstances.

Her struggles with food began in childhood, after a difficult upbringing with her grandmother. By her 40th birthday, her health was in serious danger. Seeking a change, Jeanne turned to Dr. Younan Nowzaradan—better known as Dr. Now—for help.

Dr. Now encouraged Jeanne to lose weight on her own before qualifying for gastric bypass surgery. Determined to get a head start, she cut back on food and began eating healthier, eventually losing 32 pounds during her time on the show.

But just as her journey was gaining momentum, tragedy struck.

While Jeanne and her mother were in Houston for treatment, her father unexpectedly passed away at home. The devastating loss left Jeanne unable to continue the program.

“At that point, I just wasn’t in a place to do Dr. Now’s program,” Jeanne said during her six-month check-in. Instead, she focused on supporting her mother and caring for their dogs at home.

Life after leaving the show

Unlike many participants who disappear from the public eye, Jeanne has occasionally shared updates with fans on her Facebook page. In 2020, she revealed she had lost significant weight—dropping to 388 pounds.

“I’m doing great, going out more,” she wrote, assuring supporters that her progress was continuing even without the cameras.

In 2021, Jeanne announced another major change: she and her mother had moved from Texas to Arkansas. She also introduced fans to her new boyfriend, though she chose to keep most details private to respect his privacy.

From her posts, it’s clear that Jeanne is enjoying a new chapter in her life—one that includes healthier habits, companionship, and a sense of independence.

Jeanne Covey’s path didn’t follow the usual storyline seen on My 600-lb Life, but her progress shows that every journey is different. She continues to work toward her health goals while building a new life in Arkansas with her family and pets.

For her supporters, seeing her healthier and happier is a powerful reminder that change—no matter how slow or difficult—is still possible.
