Lady Gaga’s makeup-free performance at the Oscars has everyone saying the same thing

Suffice it to say that the Oscars has generated its fair share of big moments over the years. I mean, it can be expected that when that many high-profile individuals and huge characters descend on Los Angeles for an event, fireworks are going to ensue.

Even so, waiting to witness just what will happen is all part of the fun. We’re sort of happy/sort of disappointed to report that there was no such debacle this year (at least not on that scale). There were, however, a number of moments that got folks at home talking in their droves.

One such moment belonged to pop icon Lady Gaga, whose track “Hold My Hand”, written for Top Gun: Maverick, was nominated for Best Original Song.

Reports suggest that it was uncertain if Lady Gaga would attend the event, as she has been occupied with filming The Joker sequel. However, she managed to fit the occasion into her busy schedule and arrived in Los Angeles for Sunday evening.

The 36-year-old artist, whose actual name is Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta, appeared on the Oscars red carpet at the Dolby Theatre. She wore a Versace dress, dramatic eye makeup, and bold red lipstick.

What caught the attention of viewers at home was the Born This Way singer’s change of outfit during the event.

Before performing “Hold My Hand,” Lady Gaga gave a touching speech, expressing that everyone needs love and support in life. She emphasized that heroes can be found in unexpected places and that one can be their own hero despite feeling broken.

In a sincere performance, Lady Gaga appeared without makeup and changed from her Versace dress into a casual outfit of a black T-shirt, ripped jeans, and Converse shoes.

Naturally, fans had much to discuss and share their thoughts on the matter.

The song “Hold My Hand” earned Lady Gaga her fourth Oscar nomination, adding to her past nominations for Best Original Song in 2016 and 2019 and Best Actress in 2019. She had won the Best Original Song award in 2019 for “Shallow.” However, this year she did not win any Oscars. The Best Original Song award went to “Naatu Naatu” from the film RRR instead.

Lady Gaga truly is a fantastic performer, and it’s wonderful that she felt at ease performing on stage without makeup, showing her genuine self. Let us know your thoughts in the comment section below.
