Nicole Kidman reportedly made ‘mad dash’ to save marriage to Keith Urban before divorce filing
Sources say the Oscar-winning actor returned to Nashville in a last effort to reconcile as the couple quietly separated months ago
Nicole Kidman allegedly made a “mad dash” back to Nashville in a final attempt to repair her 18-year marriage to Keith Urban — but insiders claim the effort came too late.
According to TMZ and RadarOnline, Kidman, 58, and Urban, 57, have been living separately for several months. The country music star reportedly moved into a new home in Nashville earlier this year, while Kidman remained in the family residence with their daughters, Sunday Rose, 17, and Faith Margaret, 14.
Reports indicate that it was Urban who ultimately decided to end the marriage, with Kidman officially filing for divorce on September 29.
While neither has publicly commented on the split, sources say the couple — long seen as one of Hollywood’s most stable partnerships — had been facing challenges for some time.

Shifting priorities and growing distance
Kidman, who slowed her career after becoming a mother, has recently experienced a resurgence, starring in acclaimed television and film projects including Special Ops: Lioness.
A source told People that the actress “truly thrived working again” and felt “amazing and very happy” to return to a full-time career. Her daughters, now teenagers, are said to support her work — but insiders claim Urban was less comfortable with the shift.
“Keith was used to her being supportive of his career,” one insider said. “He’s not been as supportive as she hoped.”
The ‘mad dash’ back to Nashville
According to RadarOnline, Kidman “rushed back” to Nashville earlier this month when it became clear the relationship was deteriorating.
“Nicole wanted to show she was committed,” the insider said. “She rushed back to Nashville, hoping to fix things, but by then it was too late. Keith had already made up his mind.”

Another source told the outlet that the couple’s teams are framing the separation differently. “Nicole’s camp says it’s only a trial separation, while Keith’s camp believes the marriage ended long ago,” the source said. “But either way, the reality is they are broken and done.”
Public appearances amid private turmoil
Despite the personal upheaval, Kidman appeared composed at the Nashville Film Festival last week. She spoke warmly about the city and its importance to her family, saying, “I love the Nashville people because they embraced me two decades ago, and they keep making it possible for our family to have the most beautiful life here.”
Both Kidman and Urban have continued their professional commitments — she with upcoming film projects, and he with his ongoing music tour — as the couple’s separation proceeds.
Their representatives have not commented on the reports.
