Levi’s story began in Texas, born in August 2021. His biological mother, who had a past relationship with Wesley, struggled with drug use during her pregnancy and sadly, she passed away just four days after Levi was born. This left little Levi in need of a loving home.
The news of Levi reached Christie and Wesley in a way that seemed almost like fate. Wesley learned about Levi from his ex-wife’s sister. Christie, who knew the struggles of foster homes all too well, was determined to give Levi a stable, loving environment.
But here’s where the tale takes a magical twist. For three months before knowing about Levi, Christie dreamt of a blue-eyed, blond baby boy. These dreams played a big role in their decision to adopt Levi.

Their journey to bring Levi home was far from easy. They traveled from Ohio to Texas, where they first met Levi through Child Protection Services. Christie’s dream came to life the moment she laid eyes on him. “This was my son,” she said, the connection instant and profound.
The adoption process was challenging, involving legal hurdles and a move from Ohio to Texas to facilitate the process. It took 16 months of inspections, interviews, and court appearances, but finally, Levi was officially a part of the Werts family.

Despite the joy this story brings, Christie faced some backlash for sharing their journey online. Some internet users expressed concern about how Levi might feel reading this story when he’s older. Others questioned the appropriateness of sharing such a personal story publicly.
However, amid the criticisms, many people celebrated with the Werts family, sending them wishes for a happy life together.
