Woman jokes she sued her parents for being born without consent — and people believed her

A satirical TikTok video from Kass Theaz claiming she won $5,000 a month for being “born without consent” went viral — and fooled millions.

Kass Theaz, a New Jersey woman known for her sharp-witted satire on TikTok, stunned viewers in 2023 when she claimed she sued her parents for bringing her into the world without her permission — and won.

In the video, Theaz said she took her parents to court and was awarded $5,000 a month in “involuntary life support” because they never got her consent to be born. “They didn’t try to contact me in any way before I was born,” she said with a straight face, even suggesting that pregnant people should hire a psychic to ask their unborn baby for permission.

Although the video was meant as a joke, not everyone caught on.

Kass Theaz is not a real-life courtroom plaintiff — she’s a content creator whose humor mocks extreme “woke” ideas by taking them to absurd levels. Her TikTok profile even labels her videos as satire, but that didn’t stop several media outlets and millions of viewers from taking the claim seriously.

“I thought it was obvious that I was joking,” Theaz told the New York Post, amused by the wave of reactions. “People get worked up over anything. It shows how little people research before reacting.”

Her video, posted in May 2023, has since gained over 8.3 million views.

The ethical parenting debate (sort of)

In another clip, Theaz added a twist — explaining that she actually has three children, but adopted them “ethically.” She said it’s different from her own experience because she didn’t choose to be born, while her adopted kids were already here and just needed help.

“It’s not my fault they’re here,” she said. “I’m just trying to be a good person and help them out.”

Comments poured in, ranging from sarcasm to genuine confusion. “I can’t believe your parents would do that!” one user mocked. Another joked, “I was contacted at seven months, so I knew what was coming.”

A fake court win and a furry twist

Doubling down on the satire, Theaz made a follow-up video saying the court ruled in her favor — giving her a monthly allowance of $5,000 paid by her parents. “If I ever decide to work — which I won’t — it’s just extra spending money,” she said, keeping a totally serious face.

And it didn’t stop there.

In another video, she claimed her son “came out as a cat,” and she struggled with the guilt of not supporting his “trans-species” identity. “I feel so much mom guilt,” she said, even describing the process of litter-box training. She then pushed for a “trans-species child tax credit.”

It was comedy gold — but once again, not everyone got the joke.

The power of straight-faced satire

Kass Theaz’s deadpan delivery is so convincing that many people mistake her jokes for real-life opinions. That’s part of what makes her videos so entertaining — and also why they spark confusion.

She uses comedy to make people think, often exaggerating modern debates around identity, parenting, and social justice in a way that highlights how strange things can sound when taken to the extreme.

In a time when satire is often taken literally, Theaz’s viral fame raises a serious question: Are we losing the ability to spot jokes online?

Her videos don’t just make people laugh — they shine a light on how easy it is to spread misinformation, especially when jokes are mistaken for truth.

So next time you hear someone say they sued their parents for being born… maybe double-check if they’re being serious. Or just ask yourself: would a court really go along with that?

What do you think? Would you sue your parents if you could? Or do you just appreciate a good joke when you hear one? Share this with someone who needs a laugh today.
