Dad abandoned little girl, calling her ‘dead’ – now she’s a famous actress
Once rejected by her father, this little girl rose to fame and became a well-known actress, proving him wrong
In the mid-1970s, two of the biggest stars in entertainment, a musician from the Hudson Brothers and actress Goldie Hawn, met during a first-class flight from New York to Los Angeles. The chemistry between them was undeniable, and they quickly formed a romantic connection.
Though their relationship started with passion and excitement, it eventually faced challenges that led to their separation.

The musician, Bill Hudson, was a prominent figure in the music world, having collaborated with renowned bands like The Beach Boys and The Monkees. Besides his musical achievements, he also ventured into acting, with one of his most notable roles being in the cult classic movie Hysterical. Recalling the first time he met Goldie, Bill described their attraction as immediate, leading to a dinner date the very same evening. Their relationship moved quickly, and in 1976, they tied the knot when Goldie was pregnant with their son.
However, their first child’s birth was difficult. Their son, born at Cedars-Sinai Hospital, had a life-threatening condition called meconium aspiration, which occurs when a newborn inhales amniotic fluid mixed with meconium. The child had to be isolated for three days, causing great distress to Bill and Goldie. Thankfully, their son survived, and the couple referred to him as their miracle baby.
Three years later, in 1979, they welcomed their daughter. Despite their growing family, Bill and Goldie’s marriage was turbulent. In 1981, Bill discovered that Goldie had been unfaithful. According to Bill, Goldie confessed early in their marriage that she did not believe in traditional relationships and desired an open marriage, something Bill found difficult to accept. This difference in values ultimately led to their separation.
After their divorce, Goldie began a relationship with actor Kurt Russell. The two had first met on the set of The One and Only, Genuine, Original Family Band in 1968, but their romance blossomed years later when they reunited during the filming of Swing Shift. Together, they had a son named Wyatt in 1986.
Blending their families posed some challenges, especially for Goldie’s children from her previous marriage. Both children struggled with feelings of abandonment after Bill distanced himself from their lives. Eventually, Kurt stepped in as a father figure, and the children grew close to him. However, Bill has often voiced his frustrations, accusing Goldie of turning the children against him.
In 2015, the tension between Bill and his children became public when his son, Oliver, posted a hurtful message on Father’s Day, which deeply angered Bill. Oliver’s post, captioned “Happy abandonment day,” led Bill to publicly express his resentment and claim that both of his children, Oliver and Kate, had cut him out of their lives. In response, Kate also expressed her appreciation for Kurt as a father figure, further intensifying the rift between Bill and his children.
While Bill continues to harbor feelings of betrayal, his children have moved on, embracing Kurt as their father and building strong family ties with him. Kurt remains an important figure in their lives, even stepping into the role of grandfather to Kate and Oliver’s children.
