Body discovered during search for missing twin boys last seen close to a pier

According to reports, authorities have found a body in their search for two 13-year-old brothers who went missing after entering the water near a pier in Galveston, Texas.

Galveston Island Beach Patrol reportedly discovered the body at 2 a.m. on March 6, which sadly matches the description of one of the missing twins. The family of the brothers contacted emergency services on March 6 after the boys did not return from the water at the west side of the Galveston Pleasure Pier, where they were last seen at around 4:30 p.m.

The 13-year-old twins, Josue and Jefferson Perez, disappeared while playing in the water. They were in water that was up to their chests and didn’t know how to swim.

Galveston Beach Patrol’s Lt. Austin Kirwin stated that no one saw the boys go underwater. According to Lt. Kirwin, the parents momentarily lost sight of the twins while they were in the water. When the parents looked back to check on the boys, they couldn’t find them.

“So essentially what happened is they were out in the water, the parents briefly lost sight of them, and they looked back up into that area, and they did not see them any longer.”

The disappearance of the twins has led to a widespread search involving several organizations such as the Galveston County Community Emergency Response Team, Beach Patrol, and the U.S. Coast Guard. Since Sunday, volunteers have also been actively searching the area for the boys.

Recently, a body was discovered in the vicinity of 28th Street and Seawall Blvd. The Pleasure Pier, a well-known amusement destination in Galveston that is recognized for its family-friendly environment, is located nearby.

Our hearts go out to the family of Josue and Jefferson. We send them love and hope during this difficult time. If you also want to show your support, please share this article with others.
