Tragic car crash claims lives of Vikings rookie and two footballer friends
In a devastating turn of events, Minnesota Vikings rookie Khyree Jackson lost his life in a tragic car crash, alongside two of his high school teammates.

On July 6, Khyree Jackson was traveling in a Dodge Charger with two former high school teammates in Upper Marlboro, Maryland, his hometown. According to Maryland State Police, their vehicle was struck by a silver Infiniti attempting to change lanes at high speed.
The collision forced the Charger off the road and into multiple tree stumps, ultimately causing the vehicle to be crushed. Jackson and the driver, Isaiah Hazel, 23, were killed instantly. Anthony Lytton Jr., 24, who was in the back seat, succumbed to his injuries shortly after being taken to the hospital.

The driver of the Infiniti, identified as 23-year-old Cori Clingman, and his passengers were unharmed. The driver of a third vehicle involved in the crash also escaped injury.
Khyree Jackson, a 24-year-old cornerback, was drafted by the Minnesota Vikings on April 27, 2024, in the fourth round of the NFL Draft. Jackson, who stood 6-foot-3, played college football at the University of Oregon after spending his first two collegiate seasons at the University of Alabama. Following his draft, he shared his excitement with fans on social media, posting a photo in his new Vikings jersey.

Authorities suspect that alcohol may have been a factor in the accident. Maryland State Police are conducting an ongoing investigation, with potential charges pending consultation with the county state’s attorney’s office.
