Cher vows to leave the country if Donald Trump wins the 2024 election
The pop icon makes a bold promise to leave the U.S. if Donald Trump secures another term as president in 2024.
Pop icon Cher has once again expressed her strong feelings about Donald Trump’s political future, making it clear she’s prepared to leave the U.S. if he is re-elected in 2024.
In a recent interview, Cher voiced her concerns not only about Trump’s leadership but also about the challenges facing the LGBTQ+ community, especially transgender people, in today’s political climate.

Cher revealed to The Guardian that Trump’s previous presidency had a significant toll on her, even causing her stress. “I almost got an ulcer the last time,” she explained. Reflecting on the possibility of Trump regaining power, Cher added, “If he gets in, who knows? This time I will leave [the country].”
Cher’s fears are grounded in the fact that during Trump’s presidency, protections for LGBTQ+ individuals were rolled back, including nondiscrimination policies. With her son Chaz being transgender, the issue is personal for Cher.
She pointed out that a surge of anti-LGBTQ+ bills is currently being introduced, highlighting that nearly 500 bills are being proposed across various states. “We’ve got to stand together,” she urged, sharing her concerns for the future of transgender rights in America.

This is far from the first time Cher has voiced her distaste for Trump’s policies. She has consistently criticized him since he took office, famously refusing to refer to him as “president.” In 2020, she even predicted that Trump would be vengeful if he lost re-election, saying, “If Trump can’t be in the White House, he’s going to burn it down.”
