Donald Trump lashes out at Joe Biden after rare public criticism – “Sleepy Joe is the worst president in history”
Biden breaks tradition with fiery remarks, sparking intense backlash from Trump on Truth Social
In a rare and bold move, former President Joe Biden publicly criticized Donald Trump’s policies during a speech in Chicago—prompting a swift and furious response from Trump.
Former presidents usually avoid direct attacks on their successors, following a long-standing tradition of political silence. But during a speech at a disability advocacy conference in Chicago, Joe Biden broke that norm—and he did not hold back.
Speaking to a crowd at the Advocates, Counselors, and Representatives for the Disabled event, Biden slammed Trump’s past handling of key economic issues like Social Security and tax cuts for the wealthy.
“They want to let Social Security expire every five years,” Biden said. “Who the hell do they think they are?”
He also criticized Trump for raising the national debt ceiling while passing what he called a “profligate tax” giveaway to the super-rich.
It was the first time Biden had spoken out in this way since leaving the White House—and his supporters were ready for it. The former president has faced months of verbal attacks from Trump, who often blames him for inflation, immigration issues, and the war in Ukraine.

Trump hits back hard on Truth Social
True to form, Donald Trump didn’t let Biden’s comments go unanswered.
Early Tuesday morning, Trump took to his social media platform, Truth Social, to fire back. He called Biden “Sleepy Joe” and once again labeled him “THE WORST PRESIDENT IN THE HISTORY OF THE UNITED STATES.”
In his fiery post, Trump accused Biden of creating a national security crisis at the U.S. border. He claimed that Biden’s immigration policies allowed “millions and millions of criminals” to enter the country, including drug dealers and violent offenders.
“Sorry, but it’s my job to get these killers and thugs out of here. THAT’S WHAT I GOT ELECTED TO DO. MAGA!” Trump wrote.
The former president also brought up his controversial idea of deporting U.S. citizens who commit violent crimes, hinting that he is exploring legal options to make it happen.
Trump targets Obama and Harvard in second post
Not stopping with Biden, Trump also turned his attention to former President Barack Obama, who had criticized his decision to cut federal funding to Harvard University. Trump doubled down, saying the school no longer deserves taxpayer money.
“Harvard has been hiring almost all woke, Radical Left, idiots and ‘birdbrains,’” Trump posted. “Harvard is a JOKE, teaches Hate and Stupidity, and should no longer receive Federal Funds.”
His remarks sparked outrage online but also applause from his base, especially among those critical of higher education institutions they see as politically biased.

Public reaction and what comes next
Social media quickly lit up with reactions to the Biden–Trump war of words. Some praised Biden for finally clapping back, while others saw his move as breaking a respectful tradition among past presidents.
Political analysts say Biden’s decision to speak out might signal a shift in strategy as the 2024 election season heats up. With both Trump and Biden expected to face off again in the coming race, tensions are only expected to grow.
This fiery exchange between two former U.S. presidents breaks more than tradition—it shows just how personal and intense the political battle has become. As both sides double down, Americans may see more of this no-holds-barred rhetoric in the months ahead.
Will Biden continue to respond, or was this a one-time pushback? And how will Trump escalate his campaign from here? One thing’s for sure—this fight is far from over.
