Erika Kirk named to Time Magazine’s list of influential rising stars

Widow of Charlie Kirk steps into leadership role at Turning Point USA and earns spot on TIME’s global list

Erika Kirk, who recently became CEO of Turning Point USA after the death of her husband Charlie Kirk, has been named to TIME Magazine’s list of “The World’s Most Influential Rising Stars.” The recognition marks a pivotal moment in her emergence as a national figure.

In early September, Erika Kirk lost her husband in a fatal shooting during an event at Utah Valley University. Charlie Kirk, the founder of Turning Point USA and a central figure in the conservative youth movement, was killed while speaking to students.

Since then, Erika, a mother of two, has stepped into his role both publicly and organizationally. Last weekend, she appeared on The Charlie Kirk Show, where she pledged to carry on the “American Comeback Tour” — a series of campus events her husband had been leading.

“We’ll never be silenced,” Erika said during the broadcast. “Continuing his platform in a beautiful, honorable way will reinforce that his voice will go on.”

Leadership at Turning Point USA

Shortly after Charlie’s death, Erika was named CEO of Turning Point USA, the nonprofit he founded and built into what it calls the “largest conservative student movement” in the United States, with chapters at more than 3,000 schools.

Board members said in a statement, “We will not surrender or kneel before evil. We will carry on.”

TIME Magazine recognition

Erika Kirk’s leadership and her decision to continue her husband’s work have now brought her international recognition. This week, TIME Magazine included her on its list of “The World’s Most Influential Rising Stars.”

The magazine cited her remarks at Charlie’s memorial as a defining moment, noting that instead of calling for anger or retaliation, she spoke of forgiveness just 11 days after his death.

“Her words may frame the future of the organization her husband launched as a teen and built into a political powerhouse mobilizing young conservatives across the country,” TIME wrote.

Also appearing on the list is White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt, another prominent figure within the MAGA movement.

As Erika Kirk steps into the public arena, she faces the dual challenge of leading a large national organization and raising her two young children while carrying her late husband’s mission forward. Whether she becomes a central figure in the movement or carves her own path, her recognition by TIME suggests her influence is already being felt.
