Morgan Wallen, the popular country music artist, is going through a trying time as his toddler son, Indigo, had to be taken to the hospital after a dog attack. This unfortunate event happened when Indigo was bitten on the face by a dog belonging to Wallen’s ex-fiancée.

This heart-wrenching incident follows a series of challenges for Wallen, who is 30 years old. Just last month, he had to call off a number of performances due to damage to his vocal cords. The latest event has deeply disturbed Wallen’s family, leaving them shaken.

The dog involved in the incident, named Legend, belongs to KT Smith, Wallen’s former fiancée. Smith, a social media influencer based in Nashville, and Wallen were once engaged and are parents to Indigo, who was born in July 2020.

Smith was the one to disclose the distressing event to the public via a series of Instagram videos. She narrated how Legend bit Indigo in the face, requiring him to have stitches. This led to a frantic visit to the emergency room the previous morning, she said.

After the unfortunate incident, Indigo was promptly taken to the hospital where his injuries were evaluated and he received stitches.

Following Smith’s emotional video post on social media, there was a surge of comments, many of which suggested that the dog, a Great Pyrenees named Legend, should be euthanized. Several followers believed this was the appropriate response. Smith, who adopted Legend last year, explained that the dog has a history of trauma, a common issue among rescue animals. She suggested this past trauma might be the reason for the dog’s aggressive behavior.

However, the prospect of having to put down Legend distressed Smith greatly. In an emotional appeal to her followers, she sought alternative solutions, expressing her inability to surrender her dog to a kill shelter, especially considering other shelters are overcrowded.

Expressing her struggle, she said, “Since then, we have been looking for options and I just couldn’t bring myself to do what everyone else says and what you’re supposed to do, apparently … what the world tells you to do is to put the dog down because they are aggressive.”

A few hours after sharing her predicament, Smith informed her followers that she had found a solution.

Smith later revealed that she had arranged for Legend to live with a loving family on a farm. She said, “We just dropped Legend off with the sweetest family where he will be living out his full potential and best life on a farm. I couldn’t have asked for a better family for him to be loved on by, and they’re East Tennesseans, so we can visit any time we need to.”

After sharing her ordeal, Smith faced a wave of harsh criticism on her Instagram. Social media can often be a tough space, and this instance was no different. She posted a screenshot of one such message that read, “OK no you care more about the f—ing dog than your kid? What’s wrong with you?”

Smith responded to the criticism by saying, “To be a mom is to care about your child first and find the dog a home away from your kid before they come back into the home. To be a dog mom is to find the best possible home for the dog, knowing that they can thrive in an environment that is meant for them without children.”

Indeed, every parent’s foremost concern is to ensure their child’s safety and well-being in a secure environment. Experiencing harm to one’s child is genuinely heart-wrenching.

Currently, our thoughts are with Morgan Wallen’s two-year-old son, Indigo. We genuinely hope for his speedy recovery and the strength to overcome this challenging incident.
