The rodeo world has been struck with heartbreaking news. Emma Brungardt, a young and promising Miss Teen Rodeo Kansas 2024, tragically passed away in a single-vehicle accident. Her untimely death has left her community in shock and mourning.
Emma, a dedicated student and passionate rodeo queen, was known for her contagious smile and love for horses, and her legacy will undoubtedly live on in the rodeo arena. Emma Brungardt, a 19-year-old student from Colby Community College, tragically lost her life in an accident in Kansas on October 4, 2024. According to reports, the accident occurred at around 9:44 p.m. when the 2007 Ford F-250 truck she was in lost control at a Y intersection, veering off the road and striking a row of trees.
The vehicle flipped over before coming to a stop. Emma’s teammates, aged between 18 and 20, and the 18-year-old driver were also injured and rushed to the hospital, though their injuries were not life-threatening. Sadly, Emma passed away at the scene.
The entire rodeo community, as well as her college, is mourning this incredible loss. Colby Community College shared their condolences, stating, “Unfortunately, Emma did not walk away from this … Her light will live on in and around the rodeo arena.” The Miss Rodeo Kansas Pageant also honored her memory, highlighting her dedication and spirit as a rodeo queen who always went beyond expectations.
