Amber Heard changes her name after leaving US and moving to a new country
Amber Heard has found a new home in Spain, moving there after her intense legal battles with ex-husband Johnny Depp. Their marriage began in 2015 but ended just a year later when Heard filed for divorce.
In 2018, Heard wrote an article for The Washington Post about her experiences with abuse. Although she didn’t mention Depp by name, he sued her for defamation. Heard countersued for $100 million, claiming he was trying to ruin her reputation. Their court case grabbed global attention, with a jury eventually siding with both in different aspects.
By the end of 2022, all legal matters were settled, and Heard chose to move to Spain with her daughter, Oonagh Paige, who was born via surrogate in April 2021. Heard has kept the identity of Oonagh’s father private.
In Spain, Heard reportedly adopted the name Martha Jane Cannary, the real name of the famous American sharpshooter Calamity Jane. This choice drew attention, especially since Depp has claimed Native American ancestry.
Now living in Madrid, Heard is focused on raising her daughter. According to a source, “he spends every day with her girl. They stroll around, visit parks and enjoy family time. Amber is a great mom.”
Heard, who speaks fluent Spanish, shared her love for Spain in her first Spanish-language interview last year. She expressed her happiness in her new home and her plans to stay there, focusing on a peaceful life with her daughter.
