Brad Pitt’s daughters Zahara, Vivienne, and Shiloh change their names
In a heartfelt decision, Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt’s three daughters—Zahara, Vivienne, and Shiloh—have chosen to change their last names, dropping “Pitt” and keeping “Jolie.”
This significant change highlights the ongoing challenges within the Jolie-Pitt family, particularly amid Brad Pitt’s strained relationship with his children following his divorce and custody battle with Angelina Jolie.
Shiloh, who recently turned 18, was the last to make the name change official. On her birthday, she filed legal documents to change her name to Shiloh Jolie. This step marks her desire for independence and to align her identity more closely with her mother.
Fifteen-year-old Vivienne has also distanced herself from her father by using “Vivienne Jolie” in the Playbill for the Broadway musical “The Outsiders,” which she co-produced with her mother. While it’s unclear if she has legally changed her name, using “Jolie” publicly shows her preference.
Nineteen-year-old Zahara, who attends Spelman College, introduced herself as “Zahara Marley Jolie” during a sorority event. She proudly stated, “My name is Zahara Marley Jolie, coming all the way from the Golden State in the city that is full of angels, Los Angeles, California.” Zahara’s choice was made months before her sisters’ decisions became known, indicating her early desire to embrace her mother’s surname.
Brad Pitt has reportedly been deeply affected by his daughters’ decisions to drop his surname. Sources close to him say he finds the situation painful, especially Shiloh’s choice. Despite the distance, Pitt continues to express his love and longing for his children.
There are claims that Angelina Jolie may have influenced her children’s strained relationship with their father. Some suggest she encouraged them to avoid spending time with Pitt during custody visits. This has sparked debate, with some criticizing Jolie and others expressing concern for the children’s well-being.
The ongoing legal battles and personal conflicts within the Jolie-Pitt family continue to affect the children. Their name changes reflect their efforts to establish their own identities apart from the family turmoil.
