Police called on boy selling ‘ice cold beer,’ but his clever sign leaves them laughing

Boy's smart twist on ‘ice cold beer’ sign brings laughter after police are called

Some people are naturally gifted when it comes to business, combining creativity, determination, and a willingness to take risks. One such individual is 11-year-old Seth from Utah, who has already launched his own business—and his unique marketing approach has left many people impressed.

Instead of opting for a traditional lemonade stand, Seth decided to sell something more intriguing. He set up near the street, holding a sign that read: “Ice Cold Beer.”

At first glance, some people thought he was selling actual beer, which led a few concerned neighbors to call the police. However, when officers arrived to check out the situation, they quickly realized the clever twist—Seth was selling root beer. The word “root” was written in small green letters, while “beer” was emphasized in large print.

The Brigham City Police Department appreciated Seth’s creativity, describing his sign as an excellent marketing strategy. They even found the situation humorous, noting that not many kids could come up with something so clever.

Once the story made its way online, people couldn’t help but comment. One person wrote, “He’s savy, neat and clean! Hard working and thinking about what appeals to the public…he can go anywhere with that mindset! And with that community of great police officers supporting him, he’s already got mentoring!!! Love this!”

Some online commenters criticized those who called the police on Seth. However, the police department defended the concerned neighbors, stating, “Our citizens should never feel ashamed or embarrassed to call us. They were just calling in what they felt was a suspicious circumstance. No harm, no foul.”

In the end, the officers even bought a root beer for $1 and helped spread the word about Seth’s stand by sharing the story themselves.
