Queen Elizabeth II reportedly “impersonated” Melania Trump in private moments

Royal expert claims the late queen mimicked the former First Lady with a humorous impression

Queen Elizabeth II was known for her grace and professionalism when meeting world leaders, but behind closed doors, she had a sharp sense of humor. According to a royal expert, the late queen once impersonated Melania Trump, mimicking the former First Lady with a subtle but telling performance.

During her historic reign, Queen Elizabeth met numerous world leaders, including controversial figures like Vladimir Putin, Robert Mugabe, and Donald Trump. While she maintained diplomatic decorum in public, new claims suggest she had personal opinions about some of her guests.

According to author Craig Brown in his book Voyage Around The Queen, Queen Elizabeth found Donald Trump “very rude” after their first meeting in 2018. She reportedly told a lunch guest that Trump kept looking over her shoulder, as if searching for someone more interesting.

“She particularly disliked the way he couldn’t stop looking over her shoulder,” Brown wrote, adding that she also speculated about his marriage to Melania, wondering if they had a special “arrangement.”

Trump, however, has dismissed these claims, insisting he had a “great relationship” with the queen. He even went so far as to say he was her “favorite president.”

Queen Elizabeth’s impersonation of Melania Trump

Beyond her private thoughts on Trump, the queen reportedly found humor in mimicking his wife, Melania. According to royal expert Ephraim Hardcastle, Queen Elizabeth enjoyed doing impressions of both Donald and Melania Trump.

The queen’s supposed impersonation of Melania was subtle yet revealing. A source quoted by The Express claims that when asked to imitate the First Lady, Queen Elizabeth would go silent, put on a bored expression, and mutter the phrase, “I want to be alone.”

The phrase is famously associated with Hollywood legend Marlene Dietrich, known for her reserved and mysterious demeanor. The suggestion is that the queen saw Melania as distant, perhaps even unhappy in her public role.

Melania Trump’s connection with the Royal Family

Despite reports of the queen’s impressions, Melania Trump has maintained a formal relationship with the British Royal Family. In her 2023 memoir Melania, she revealed that she and King Charles III have exchanged letters since meeting in 2005.

“Our paths had crossed many years ago in New York City,” she wrote, adding that their conversations often revolved around environmental conservation. She described their correspondence as an “ongoing friendship.”

Melania also paid tribute to Queen Elizabeth after her passing in 2022, recalling a warm farewell during their last meeting.

The Trump family’s evolving relationship with the Royals

While Queen Elizabeth may have had her private thoughts on Donald Trump, other members of the royal family have maintained diplomatic ties with him. Prince William, for instance, reportedly sees his relationship with Trump as a crucial part of international diplomacy.

According to royal expert Shannon Felton Spence, engaging with Trump is part of William’s “preparation for kingship.” She noted that navigating relationships with powerful figures—regardless of personal views—is essential for the future monarch.

However, not all members of the monarchy have had smooth interactions with Trump. The former president has been critical of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, once stating that Harry’s actions were “unforgivable” and even joking about deporting him over his visa issues.

The queen’s humor behind closed doors

Queen Elizabeth II was widely respected for her ability to balance diplomacy with personal warmth. Her reported impersonation of Melania Trump adds to the many stories of her sharp wit, showing that even the most powerful figures in the world were not immune to her humor.

While Trump and Melania continue to maintain ties with the Royal Family, this revelation offers a rare glimpse into the queen’s private thoughts—proving that, even after her passing, her legacy of charm and humor lives on.
