Princess Diana, often called the “People’s Princess,” touched millions with her grace, kindness, and genuine love for others. Her beauty, both inside and out, left an enduring impression on those who knew her and even those who didn’t.

She was a devoted mother, a philanthropist, and a global icon, but her life was not without its struggles. Behind her bright smile and public appearances, Diana faced numerous personal challenges, especially within her marriage to Prince Charles, which ended in a highly publicized divorce in 1996. A year later, her life came to a tragic end, leaving the world in shock.

On that fateful night in Paris, August 31, 1997, Princess Diana was involved in a car accident that ultimately took her life. Dr. MonSef Dahman, one of the surgeons at the hospital where she was treated, has shared the harrowing details of that night.

In an interview with Daily Mail, Dr. Dahman recalled the moment he was called to the emergency room. He wasn’t initially told it was Diana; he only knew a young woman had been involved in a serious accident. The princess arrived at the hospital around 2:06 a.m., more than an hour after the crash.

X-rays revealed extensive internal injuries, and despite several attempts to save her, including blood transfusions and surgery, Diana’s heart could not be revived. “We tried electric shocks, several times and, as I had done in the emergency room, cardiac massage,” Dr. Dahman shared. He described how time seemed to blur as they fought desperately to save her, only realizing the weight of their loss afterward.

Princess Diana’s death was a devastating blow, not only to her family but to the entire world. She was not just a royal figure; she was a symbol of compassion, change, and humanity. Her sons, Princes William and Harry, have continued to honor her memory, often sharing heartfelt stories about their time with her.

In a 2017 interview with Good Morning America, Prince Harry fondly remembered his mother’s playful nature, recounting how she would sneak candy into her socks during their football games. Prince William, too, has expressed how deeply loved they felt by their mother and how her presence remains with them.

As we reflect on Diana’s remarkable life, a new documentary is set to air, revealing fresh insights into the beloved princess. Executive producer David Glover explained to Express, “Her 60th birthday feels like the perfect time to re-examine her life and legacy and explore just how she went from a relatively unknown teenager to the most mourned person who ever lived.”
