TikTok star Bailey Hutchins passes away after courageous fight with cancer
The social media creator inspired fans with her strength and resilience throughout her health battle.
Days before she passed away from colon cancer, Bailey Hutchins shared a heartfelt TikTok video from her hospital bed, reminding the world to appreciate life.
For two years, the young nurse and social media star documented her battle with cancer, inspiring millions. When she died on February 7, 2025, at just 26 years old, thousands of fans took to social media to mourn her loss, expressing their grief over a woman they had never met but deeply admired.
Bailey’s cancer journey began in early 2023. On January 31 of that year, her then-boyfriend, Caden Hutchins, shared devastating news on Instagram.
“The past week has been a rollercoaster,” he wrote. “Bailey’s health has declined to a point where we had no other option but to bring her into the ER.”
Doctors performed emergency surgery and removed part of Bailey’s colon, confirming the presence of Stage 3 cancer. But Caden remained hopeful, vowing, “Bailey is young, strong, and will look cancer in the face and put an end to it.”
Finding strength in adversity
Instead of retreating into fear, Bailey chose to share her story with the world. As a registered nurse, she used her platform to spread awareness about colon cancer, urging her followers to prioritize their health.
Her TikTok videos were a mix of raw honesty and positivity—she shared the painful realities of chemotherapy while still finding moments to smile, dance, and express gratitude.
Her courage resonated deeply, especially with young people who never imagined cancer could touch their lives.

‘I’m alive’
Despite aggressive treatment, Bailey’s cancer progressed to Stage 4 with peritoneal metastasis, meaning it had spread to her abdominal lining. But she refused to let the disease define her.
On January 19, 2025, she posted her final TikTok video from her hospital bed, a moment that has since been watched by millions.
“Don’t mind my hair, I look crazy right now,” she joked before turning serious. “I’m not going to share any updates on what’s actually going on with me. I just can’t. But I’m here. And I’m alive.”
Her words struck a chord with thousands of followers, many of whom had been rooting for her since the beginning.
‘Her story will live on’
Bailey’s husband, Caden, whom she married in November 2023, announced her passing on February 8, 2025.
“Last night, our Bailey B passed on to Heaven,” he wrote, sharing an emotional video set to Wiz Khalifa’s See You Again. “Although we selfishly wanted her here forever, we are at peace knowing she no longer has to endure any pain or suffering.”
The video, showing clips from their wedding day, has been viewed over 10 million times.
“Her spirit is as radiant as the sun,” Caden continued. “She was and always will be such a spark to so many. Her story will live on.”
‘Crying for a stranger’
Since her passing, tributes have flooded social media, with many fans describing how Bailey’s strength touched their lives.
“I didn’t know her, but I grieve her loss. She will be dearly missed,” one person wrote.
“I have never prayed and hoped for a miracle more than I did for Bailey,” another shared.
Others reflected on how Bailey’s journey inspired them personally.
“I’ve been struggling with my mental health for the past year, barely leaving my bed. Bailey, I promise to live life more fully because of you,” one TikTok user commented.
Another wrote, “Bailey gave me strength while I was helping my husband through his own colon cancer battle. We won’t give up.”
@healingwithbailey Last night our Bailey B passed on to Heaven. Although we selfishly wanted her here forever we are at peace knowing that she no longer has to endure any pain or suffering. This past month+ has been an absolute devastating nightmare for Bailey as well as our families. Bailey fought so hard these past 2 years. It’s been an incredible journey to watch and I am so honored to be your husband and caregiver. Her spirit is as radiant as the sun. Bailey is such a light, and we plan on continuing to let it shine on. Myself, and our families will share her platform to tell stories about great memories and knowledge passed on to us from B. She was and always will be such a spark to so many, her story will live on. -Caden #coloncancerawareness ♬ original sound – Bailey Hutchins
