William shares Prince Louis’ funny comment about school
The young royal had a cheeky response that left everyone laughing.
Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis have returned to school after a long Christmas break, marking a fresh start following a challenging year for their family. With their mother, Princess Kate, now cancer-free, the Prince and Princess of Wales are focusing on family life, ensuring their children have a sense of normalcy despite their royal status.
Last year was particularly difficult for Prince William and Kate Middleton’s three children. In February 2024, Kate was diagnosed with cancer, a situation that undoubtedly caused anxiety and confusion for the young royals. Although William and Kate explained the illness to them in simple terms, it was likely a difficult concept to fully grasp at their age.
Thankfully, in September, Kate announced that she was cancer-free, bringing immense relief to the family. Determined to make up for lost time, the couple prioritized spending quality time with their children over the Christmas holiday, creating joyful memories together.
William and Kate’s parenting style: Balancing royalty with normalcy
Despite their royal duties, William and Kate are dedicated to giving their children as normal a childhood as possible. Royal expert Ingrid Seward told Hello! Magazine that the couple plans to spoil their children a little in 2025 after such a tough year.
“Kate will be wanting to spoil them a bit because it’s very frightening for children when their parents are that ill,” Seward said. “I think they will be up for a few treats this year… I think William and Kate might take the children skiing during the Easter holidays and will probably be planning a big summer holiday.”
The couple has long emphasized the importance of allowing their children to be playful and spontaneous, even in public. Royal expert Judi James told the Daily Mail in 2023 that William and Kate actively encourage their children to have fun and express themselves, even in formal settings.
“George, Charlotte, and Louis are not only allowed to be playful, fun, spontaneous, and even cheeky in public, they are actively encouraged by their mum and dad,” James explained.
Prince Louis’ surprising comment about school
Like most children, Prince Louis and his siblings sometimes give their parents unexpected responses when asked about school. While visiting the Tiber Football Centre in Toxteth, Liverpool, earlier this week, Prince William shared a humorous revelation about his children’s daily routine.
According to William, whenever he asks George, Charlotte, and Louis how their day at school was or what they learned, they all give the same answer:
“Nothing,” he said with a laugh.
Many parents can likely relate to this classic response from their children, showing that even royal kids have typical school experiences.
Prince George’s future at Eton College
Currently, all three royal children attend Lambrook School, but a big decision looms for Prince George. He has been seen visiting Eton College, the prestigious boarding school his father and uncle, Prince Harry, attended. However, reports suggest that Kate has mixed emotions about sending George to boarding school due to her own difficult experiences as a student at Downe House.
According to In Touch Weekly, Kate has reluctantly agreed to George’s wish to follow in his father’s footsteps, but she worries about how much she will miss him. Even though Eton is just a short drive from Windsor, the transition will mark a significant change for the family.
Prince Louis and the “Spare Curse”
As the youngest of William and Kate’s children, Prince Louis faces a unique position within the royal family. His uncle, Prince Harry, has spoken openly about the struggles of being the “spare” to the heir, and some have speculated about whether Louis will experience similar challenges.
However, royal experts believe William and Kate will ensure Louis has the freedom to carve his own path. Former BBC royal correspondent Jennie Bond told the Mirror that the couple will likely encourage Louis to explore interests outside the royal fold.
“They will try to ensure that he feels he is living a life of value, irrespective of his place in the line of succession,” Bond said. “That will probably involve service of some kind, as they have emphasized from the start that they want their children to understand that having empathy with others is not only a kindness but is rewarding as well.”
A bright future for the royal children
As George, Charlotte, and Louis settle back into school, their parents are determined to provide them with a stable and loving environment. While their royal duties will inevitably shape their futures, William and Kate are committed to ensuring they enjoy a happy, grounded childhood.
