Kelly Rizzo displays remarkable strength amid grief

At the 2024 Grammys viewing party, Kelly Rizzo, the widow of beloved comedian Bob Saget, introduced her new boyfriend, actor Breckin Meyer, to the world. Now, she has made their relationship Instagram-official, sharing their first public post together to celebrate Meyer’s birthday.

Kelly took to social media on Tuesday to shower Breckin with sweet birthday wishes. She wrote, “HAPPY BIRTHDAY!! To the man who is kind, sweet, silly, thoughtful, completely hilarious, handsome, understanding, charming, forever curious, compassionate, witty, warm & wonderful. You deserve to be endlessly celebrated today!🎂❤️🎉.”

Kelly’s post received warm responses from friends and fans. Actress Caitlin Crosby commented, “Oh it’s Instagram offish !!! 🥰🥰🥰,” while Jana Kramer added, “I love this so much.”

In an interview with E! News, Kelly opened up about her journey to finding love again. She shared that it took her a long time to feel ready to date after Bob Saget’s sudden passing in 2022. Addressing those who think she moved on too quickly, Kelly emphasized, “Unless you are a widow or a widower, you truly have absolutely no place and no right to comment on this because you do not know what it’s like.” She explained how complex and difficult the grieving process is, and that it’s different for everyone.

Kelly began dating Breckin 18 months after Bob’s death. She feels grateful to have found someone who understands and respects her past. Breckin is supportive and always includes Bob in their conversations, which means a lot to Kelly. She said, “He always asks questions about him and keeps him a part of the conversation, and that means so much to me.”

Although she didn’t need their approval, Kelly appreciated the support from Bob’s daughters. Their blessing made a big difference to her. She shared, “I’d love to think that Bob would want me to be happy too, but to hear it from them is just a totally different level. It meant the world just to hear, ‘Hey, we trust you. We love you. We know you’re going to do what’s right, and we want you to be happy.’”

Kelly and Bob were married for four years before his passing. Now, she is finding joy again with Breckin Meyer, known for his role in the 1990s cult classic *Clueless*. Breckin is also a writer and producer, known for creating *Men At Work*. He was previously married to filmmaker Deborah Kaplan, and they have two daughters together.

Kelly’s story is a touching reminder of the resilience of the human spirit and the power of love to heal. Please share this heartwarming story with your family and friends on Facebook.
