Born in London in 1951, Phil’s life was always surrounded by creativity. His mother, a talent manager, and his father, an insurance agent, fostered a home brimming with artistic energy. Phil’s passion for music was evident from an early age.
At just three, he received his first drum, and by five, he had a custom-made drum kit. This early love for rhythm led him to perform at local shows and even explore acting.

Phil’s career took a decisive turn when he joined Genesis in 1970, initially as a drummer and backup vocalist. Parallel to his work with Genesis, Phil launched a successful solo career. In 2015, Genesis reunited, announcing a UK tour. However, due to Phil’s health issues, his son Nicholas took over the drumming responsibilities. Phil acknowledges that this might be his last tour, emphasizing the importance of health over fame.
